Don’t Wait on Your Calling

We are called to be set apart, to live holy lives as Jesus did. But we are also called to dwell among those who need healing and restoration. Too often believers live their lives sheltered from those we’re called to dwell among. We construct a comfortable Christian bubble where we often spend too much of our existence. We occasionally venture into the virtual world to share our faith on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, while living quietly under the radar in the real world. It’s kind of like sharing your faith only on a short term mission trip, but never in your home town.
We need to learn to live more intentionally in the real world. Jesus dwelt among us and as a result “we saw His glory.” If we want people to see God’s glory in our lives, we must dwell among them. Am I willing to live out my faith full time in a world that rejected and crucified Christ? If Jesus is my example, then I must. Jesus was faithful to those the Father gave Him, and I must be faithful to those the Father placed me among. I must intentionally and with urgency live out my faith in my community, proclaiming the praises of Him who called me out of darkness into His marvelous light.
